Getting your first expert witness appointment as a forensic accountant can be difficult. You need to work for a firm with enough experience and gravitas in the market that law firms will trust your appointment, while surrounded by an existing partnership that believes in developing new talent and giving their staff a step up.

I\’m working with just such a firm in London. They have experience acting as experts in damage quantification (in court and before international arbitration tribunals), valuations, and competition & anti-trust in major cases globally. They have an excellent reputation in the market, built on a strong partnership group that values mentoring and developing their team.

You\’ll be joining as a Senior Manager, but you will have a clear route to Director and Partner (the team just appointed a new equity Partner this year who went through this process). You\’ll spend approximately 60% of your time delivering on projects, and another 40% building your network of lawyers. There is no sales target at this level, but the firm wants you to develop your own book of contacts to fast-track your progression.

On offer to you is:

  • Access to the biggest projects on the market, often handling expert witness work for high-profile projects that end up in the financial papers!
  • Support from the Partners to build your network of lawyers and corporates to help get expert appointments and become a Partner yourself
  • Excellent salary and bonus (plus benefits)
  • Work with a wide variety of disputes projects, across almost every sector
  • A close-knit, friendly feel to their office. The office is also based in a fantastic part of London, with 3 tube lines and 2 major overground stations close by for easy commuting (once the current pandemic subsides)
  • Sponsorship and relocation if possible if you\’re currently working in a similar role in another major forensics market, such as the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, France, etc.

What we\’re looking for:

  • A candidate who is an experienced \’Manager\’ or \’Senior Manager\’ grade in forensics, preferably with experience working on litigation support, valuation of damages, etc. for either a large accounting/consulting firm or a specialist forensics firm
  • Ambitious to further their career within forensic accounting
  • ACA (or equivalent) qualified

If you\’re a manager or senior manager within forensics and are looking to progress towards director/partnership, let\’s have a chat. Apply with strict confidentiality, or call Adam Nelson at Hanami International on +442070487880.
