We're working exclusively with an established and growing independent accountancy practice in Central London, working with a diverse range of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and entrepreneurial clients across a variety of sectors.
You’ll have your own portfolio of clients and real responsibility for the day-to-day bookkeeping, while working alongside the wider accounts and tax teams. There’s plenty of variety in the client base, direct access to the Partners and a team around you that values people who know what they’re doing and get on with it.
This isn’t about reinventing the wheel. It’s about finding a really good, experienced Bookkeeper who enjoys the work.
What you'll be doing
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
- Processing sales and purchase invoices and maintaining accurate accounting records
- Posting and processing financial transactions
- Carrying out regular bank and control account reconciliations
- Maintaining client ledgers and investigating discrepancies
- Preparing bookkeeping information through to trial balance
- Managing your own workload across multiple clients and ensuring deadlines are met and queries are resolved
- Working closely with the Partners, wider accounts and tax teams
About you
- Relevant bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice
- Experience with cloud-based accounting software such as Xero (ideally), QuickBooks or Sage
- Excellent communication and client facing skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- AAT or another relevant bookkeeping qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
- The role would suit someone who enjoys bookkeeping and wants to remain focused on this area long term.
- Reliable, detail-focused and takes pride in their work, with the ability to work independently and take ownership
