The Role
This new role is to support the Head of Safety for the UK & Ireland in delivering a high‑performing, legally compliant, and continuous‑improvement‑focused food safety, health & safety, quality, and environmental programme across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage microbiological testing programmes and review results to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support product development by maintaining specifications, labels, recipes, and compliance documentation.
- Assist with food safety, quality, and health & safety investigations, audits, and corrective action plans.
- Lead third-party audit administration and KPI reporting, driving continuous improvement across the business.
- Support supplier approval and performance review processes.
- Deliver food safety and compliance training, coaching, and communications to operational teams.
- Monitor legislative and industry developments to identify emerging risks and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, retail partners, local authorities, and franchisees.
- Provide support to the Head of Safety and act as deputy when required.
About You:
- Experience in food safety, quality assurance, or compliance within food manufacturing, retail, or hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Confident managing multiple projects and driving continuous improvement.
- Passionate about creating a positive food safety culture and supporting operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Food Safety Level 4 or equivalent.
- HACCP Level 4.
- Experience in microbiology (environment or product).
- Confident liaising with local authorities.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Supervisory or management experience (retail, food production, hospitality, or manufacturing).
- Competent in labelling regulations.
- Experience in Health & Safety.
- Supplier assurance experience.
- Root Cause Analysis.
