The Role

As an Area Manager at Hana Group, you’ll have the opportunity to bring together your strategic thinking, commercial focus, and people leadership skills to drive sales, performance, and operational excellence across your region. You will be responsible for 12 kiosks providing strong leadership and coaching to ensure your teams consistently deliver against key performance indicators. Your role will be varied, combining day-to-day business activities with regular visits to your kiosks. During these visits, you will:

  • Recognise and build on team strengths
  • Identify opportunities for improvement
  • Implement initiatives to drive sales and profitability
  • Uphold the highest standards of quality and operational excellence

You will work closely with Chef Managers and their teams, setting clear goals, supporting their development, and driving accountability. A big part of your success in this role will come from your ability to create impactful strategies, introduce new ideas, and bring out the best in your people. You’ll also play a key role in recruiting top talent, building strong, engaged teams, and ensuring our colleagues feel valued, recognised, and part of the Sushi Gourmet family.

Responsibilities as an Area Manager

  • Inspire & lead: Coach, mentor, and motivate Chef Managers and their teams to consistently deliver outstanding performance and results.
  • Drive growth: Identify opportunities and implement effective strategies to increase sales, exceed targets, and grow the business.
  • Champion quality: Ensure all teams consistently uphold our standards, delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Improve & innovate: Proactively spot areas for improvement and take action to continuously raise the bar.
  • Build great teams: Recruit, develop, and retain talented Chef Managers and Sushi Chefs, fostering a strong sense of belonging and teamwork.
  • Deliver operational excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, including administrative tasks, stock management, and ensuring Food, Health & Safety standards are executed flawlessly.
  • Maintain brand standards: Ensure every kiosk looks incredible, every day, and reflects our brand at its best.
  • Create a positive culture: Bring energy, positivity, and enthusiasm—leading by example to create a fun, friendly, and engaging workplace.

Qualifications

  • Previous multi-site or multi-store management experience (essential)
  • Background in Asian cuisine, catering, restaurant, or hospitality is highly advantageous
  • A natural leader with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong commercial awareness with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Passionate about quality, operational standards, and customer experience
  • Highly organised with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Positive, approachable, and full of energy and enthusiasm
  • Full, valid driver’s licence (essential)
  • Food Hygiene Level 3 certification
  • Knowledge and experience of HACCP and allergen management
