The role of a Language Assistant is rewarding and offers the opportunity to become widely involved in the busy life of our School. The successful applicant will join a large, forward-thinking department which achieves outstanding academic results.
You must be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a passion for languages. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a personable, self-motivated approach. The position is full- or part-time, term-time only, with working hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Main responsibilities include:
- Assist teachers with day-to-day classroom work and departmental administrative tasks
- Work with individuals and small groups for German conversation and preparation of oral topics
- Assist with language clubs and support pupils for language competitions
- Support and assist with departmental events or activities
- Assist with School duty rotas and pupil supervision
Person Specification:
- A commitment to the safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils
- Either a recent graduate or a suitably qualified native speaker
- Excellent communication and ICT skills
- Calmness and efficiency under pressure
- A cheerful and well-presented person, capable of inspiring confidence
Salary and Benefits:
The remuneration package will be in line with the Hampton School salary scale and will be commensurate with experience. The School offers non-contractual benefits such as a healthcare cash plan, pension scheme enrolment, and access to sports facilities.
