Employer is seeking a Rigger to join our team. The ideal Rigger will work on a team with the Crane and Rigging Division under the supervision of the job Project Manager.

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Attach loads to rigging.
• Prepare equipment, materials, or other items for movement by life equipment including cranes.
• Select, inspect, and maintain rigging equipment necessary for safe and proper lift.
• Guide lifts using hand signals, chain-falls, gin poles, gallows frame or other equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces for proper placement.
• Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
• Inspect rigging prior to lift to ensure proper operation of equipment.
• Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
• Repairing lift equipment when necessary.
• Ability to read instructions, job information, and interpret to perform proper lift.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of crane signals.
• Ability to assess lifts and select most appropriate tools and equipment to perform lift in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to communicate and coordinate direction to others to assist with lift.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years experience with rigging in a construction environment.
• Signalman 1 qualification.
• Rigger 1 qualification.

Desired But Not Required

• 2-4 years experience with rigging in a construction environment (preferably marine construction).
• Rigger 2 qualification.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
• Exposure to construction and marine site dangers.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
• Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• Noisy environments.
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• Able to traverse all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may require walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.

Physical / Environmental Requirements

• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hand and/or fingers.
• Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• Color correct vision.

• Able to traverse all areas of the jobsite in all types of weather; this may require walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
