This advert is for a doctor who is already working as a General Practitioner in the UK or is a newly qualified General Practitioner in the UK. Hampton Medical Centre is currently looking for a Salaried GP to join our busy practice for 6-8 sessions a week. Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group. We may close applications early if we find the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
- In accordance with the Practice timetable, the post holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the Practice.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, develop care plans for health.
About us
We are a rapidly growing practice in the Hampton area of Peterborough, a high QOF achieving practice, with a good CQC rating. We are a training practice that not only has GP trainees but also supervises students from various medical schools. We have several ARRS roles e.g. two Clinical Pharmacists, Assistant General Practitioner, paramedics, care coordinators and Social prescribers all working in the practice. We have a strong nursing team with ANPs, Practice nurse and HCA. Our management team consists of Business Manager, Operations lead, Management lead and Patient Safety Liaison Lead.
Job responsibilities
- Supervision of learners would be part of your job.
- Providing counselling and health education.
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Person Specification
- Qualifications: MRCGP, GMC Registration.
- Must be able to work in a pressured environment.
- Experience: Must have done UK VTS training or worked as a GP in UK health care settings.
- Disclosure and Barring Service Check: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£11,000 a session, higher rate if trainer or coil/implant fitter.
