The predicted salary is between 10 - 13 £ per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Assist service users in maintaining personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, pressure relief needs and meeting continence needs following their personalised care plans and individual routines.
  • Assist service users who may require help with managing meals, assistance with meals and drinks following personalised nutritional meal needs and requirements.
  • Assist the activity and lifestyle support team with activities in and out of the home, organised trips and daily outings that may be planned.
  • Be an active key friend to a selection of residents that may have similar interests to yourself.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Assist Seniors/Nurse assistants in maintaining records and notes on each shift.
  • Tidy rooms, make beds, clean bodily fluids where necessary.
  • Assist in the collection of specimens and samples.
  • Act as a chaperone for medical and professional staff as required, including nurses, social workers and any other professional that may visit the home.
  • Ensure all paperwork and documentation a service user has in place are completed in full and legible (if it's not written down it didn't happen).
  • Assist in the care of all service users through the delivery of individual planned care programmes.
  • Promote independence and dignity of service users.
  • Assist in enabling service users to live their chosen lifestyle.
  • Talk and listen to service users.
  • Participate in social activities directed at benefiting service users' quality of life.

Qualities & Qualifications

  • Empathic, honest and caring nature.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Either currently holding QCF 2 or working towards the qualification.
  • Friendly, creative and confident.
  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS and check against the DBS First List (where applicable).

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role with the relevant client group.
  • NVQ level 2 (Adult) or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with older people.
  • Willingness to undergo further extensive training to improve knowledge and care standards within the home.

This position is subject to proven eligibility to work in the UK and a satisfactory enhanced DBS in the event of a successful application. Staff may be required to wear PPE including masks, undergo regular LFT and PCR testing if required according to government guidelines at the time.
