OUR HOTEL The Hampton by Hilton, London Gatwick is situated at the North Terminal of London Gatwick Airport, which is the UK's second largest airport. With 194 bedrooms, restaurant and bar serving up to 500 covers a day in peak season, the hotel has a gym facility onsite and has 2 meeting rooms, each able to accommodate up to 20 delegates. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHEF AT OUR HOTEL What you'll be doing....

  • You will be responsible for preparing and delivering exceptional and professional food and beverage service to our guests.
  • Ensure consistent great food preparation and production across the team.
  • Maintain a clean, organised workstation, following hygiene and food safety standards rigorously.
  • Ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Help with kitchen inventory by preparing ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and informing the F&B Manager when supplies are low.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the breakfast/kitchen area.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety legislation and procedures are adhered to; this will involve appropriate training.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to kitchen procedures, contributing effectively to a well‑organised team.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Genuine interest in cooking and enthusiasm for learning in a kitchen.
  • Some previous kitchen experience is a plus, but a willingness to work hard and learn is essential.
  • Understanding of basic food prep techniques and a commitment to improving your skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety.
  • Team-oriented mindset, able to take direction well and support colleagues as needed.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying focused and reliable during busy services.
