Local attractions such as Blackburn\βs historic cathedral, the Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery, King George\βs Hall, and Blackburn Empire Theatre are a 10-minute drive away. The hotel has 150 bedrooms and offers substantial parking for large group bookings. The restaurant and bar are available for both in-house and external guests, featuring comfortable seating, a relaxed atmosphere, and ample space for small meetings.
Person Specification
We are seeking an enthusiastic and personable team player who will enjoy being the first point of contact at the hotel. You must be presentable, professional, and upbeat. The ideal candidate should be comfortable using our front office system to check guests in and out, and possess an excellent telephone manner. Support across different hotel areas, including the kitchen, is required, with availability across early and late shifts, including weekends. Previous experience in a front-of-house role is advantageous but not essential. Job Description
You will work in a multi-skilled role, supporting front-of-house functions within the hotel. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the reception desk and food & beverage service. On reception, you will provide a friendly and welcoming check-in & check-out experience, using the hotel\βs front office system, for which training will be provided.
Additionally, you\βll be a key member of the food and beverage team, supporting in the kitchen when needed, and trained to prepare food according to our lounge menu. You\βll also work at the bar, taking orders and serving drinks, as well as supporting food delivery to guest tables.
As a Guest Service Assistant, you will be part of a wider hotel team committed to delivering excellent service. Your interactions with guests will be crucial in creating memorable experiences.
Key Duties
- Trained on the front office system, performing reception duties including checking guests in and out.
- Act as a hotel and brand ambassador.
- Be the first line of communication to our guests, providing excellent knowledge of the hotel\βs offerings, local area, and brand.
- Provide food and beverage service, including taking orders, working at the bar, and within the lounge food area.
