Great Haddon Primary School is a new 4 - 11 primary school which is due to open in September 2026 and will grow into a two-form entry primary school with a nursery. While the permanent school building is being completed, reception year pupils will be temporarily housed at Hampton College Primary Phase from September 2026 until its opening in early 2027.
We are excited to invite applications for the role of Teaching Assistant - Level 2 at Great Haddon Primary School which is opening to pupils from September 2026. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of a founding team, helping to shape the culture, values and success of our school from the very beginning. The successful candidate will play a key role in building strong foundations for our youngest learners and establishing high expectations for learning to ensure every child can thrive.
Hours of Work:
- 8.30am to 3.30pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break) 4 days a week
- 8.30am to 4.00pm (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break) 1 day a week
This equates to 33 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a term time only basis. We will confirm which day of the week requires a 4.00pm finish as soon as possible.
As part of your role as a Teaching Assistant, you will be required to carry out 30 minutes of Midday Supervision per day, which is a great way to build positive relationships with all children.
The successful candidate will:
- Support the class teacher in a mixed Reception / Year 1 class (depending on pupil numbers)
- Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources
- Provide support for pupils with additional needs where required
- Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families and the wider school community
- Play an active role in shaping the ethos and values of a new school
We are looking for someone who:
- Is caring, patient and has a proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for education and child development
- Previous experience of working in EYFS and or KS1 is desirable
