Before you apply
This role is for HCPC-registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologists (UK) who are eligible for UK insurer recognition (including Bupa), who can commit to Saturday clinics, and who are able to see clients in person from our Hampstead clinic. If you are not HCPC registered in the UK (or not eligible), cannot offer Saturday availability, or are not able to work from our Hampstead rooms, this role is unlikely to be the right fit at this stage.
About Us
Hampstead Psychology is a trusted primary care private practice offering evidence-based psychological therapy for adults, couples, children, and families in Hampstead and Central London. We’re known for our compassionate approach, clinical excellence, and strong referral partnerships.
As demand grows, we’re expanding our senior clinical team. This role suits psychologists who want to deliver high-quality therapy with a steady referral stream, while we handle admin, enquiries, and billing.
We are particularly keen to hear from Adult and CAMHS psychologists who can reliably offer Saturday appointments from our Hampstead clinic.
What We Offer
You’ll receive £160.00 per clinical hour (for 4 sessions per week this equates to £2560.00 every four weeks). We provide a steady stream of referrals, with admin and billing fully managed so you can focus on clinical work. You’ll be part of a collaborative, professional team, with clinical autonomy and appropriate support around you.
This role is based in person from consulting rooms in Hampstead. We can support with onboarding and set-up so you can begin seeing clients smoothly and confidently within our service model.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from Clinical or Counselling Psychologists with substantial post-qualification experience in relevant Adult and/or CAMHS settings in the NHS or similar setting. This is a primary care service and our clients expect a high standard of expertise, professionalism, and clinically independent practice.
You will be HCPC registered (or eligible for registration) as a Practitioner Psychologist in the UK, with a Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or an equivalent qualification leading to UK HCPC registration. You will be eligible for insurer recognition (including WPA and Cigna or similar). You will be able to offer a minimum of 4 client hours per week (ideally 4–6+) and you must be able to commit to providing Saturday clinics in person from Hampstead.
We’re looking for psychologists who are confident working across a range of presentations commonly seen in primary care, including anxiety, OCD, trauma, burnout, relationship difficulties, and neurodiversity. Additional training and experience in CBT, ACT, CFT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, Couples Therapy, or other evidence-based models is very welcome. Above all, you’ll bring a warm, ethical stance, excellent clinical judgement, and a steady ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
You will conduct assessment, formulation, and the delivery of evidence-based interventions, managing a clinical caseload effectively and ethically. You will work in line with GDPR, HCPC standards, and professional conduct requirements, adapting flexibly to the needs of a diverse client group within a high-quality private practice setting.
Eligibility for International Applicants
We welcome applications from psychologists trained outside the UK where training is equivalent to the UK Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and leads to UK HCPC registration. This typically includes: Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Hong Kong (doctorate-level training), the USA or Canada (PhD or PsyD in Clinical/Counselling Psychology), and Singapore (Doctor of Clinical Psychology).
Please note that in much of mainland Europe and Scandinavia, psychology training is commonly at Master’s level and is not usually equivalent to the UK Doctorate route. Applicants from these regions would typically require additional training and HCPC recognition.
All applicants must hold (or be eligible for) HCPC registration in the UK as a Practitioner Psychologist. We are specifically recruiting for Clinical and Counselling Psychologists within this umbrella.
Location
This role is based in person from our consulting rooms in Hampstead, London.
