About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our delivery-focused Network Team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting HTB's network infrastructure across firewalls, routing & switching, voice, video, and load balancers. This is a hands-on role where you will ensure resilience, availability, and security of systems that underpin the bank's growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve tickets at first contact in line with SLA targets
- Proactively manage open tickets, ensuring timely updates and closure
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Perform daily system checks and escalate abnormalities
- Create and maintain SOPs and knowledge base articles
- Track hardware/software lifecycle in the CMDB (EoL, EoS, contracts)
- Deliver end-to-end network solutions aligned with business and security standards
- Maintain network security against internal and external threats
- Monitor and manage network performance for resilience and availability
- Participate in projects, ensuring successful implementation
- Identify opportunities for automation and optimisation (e.g., Network Automation, DevOps)
- Document and maintain accurate diagrams and configurations
What We Are Looking For
- Degree-level qualification or relevant work experience
- Cisco CCNP minimum, with strong Data Centre / WAN / LAN expertise
- Experience with Palo Alto / Cisco Firepower firewalls, routers, and switches
- Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and Cisco ISE Radius/DOT1X
- Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, Cloudflare)
- Knowledge of IPT/VoIP solutions
- Cisco ACI & DNA, SD-WAN, and load balancing solutions
- Monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, CheckMK)
- Remote Access / VPN technologies and two-factor authentication
- Network automation and DevOps knowledge
