About the Role
We’re looking for a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team, supporting our Development Finance, Wholesale and Asset Finance businesses. This role sits at the heart of how data informs decision‑making across the bank. You’ll work across the full reporting lifecycle — from requirements gathering and development through to insight generation — helping the business make smarter, data‑led decisions. You’ll also play a key role in evolving our analytics capability, championing best practice and supporting advanced analytics and AI initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Deliver analytics, BI and reporting support to Development Finance, Wholesale and Asset Finance
- Lead and promote a data‑first approach across the business
- Develop deep expertise in HTB’s data platform and reporting landscape
- Design, build and maintain high‑quality dashboards, reports and visualisations
- Continuously enhance reporting through automation and optimisation
- Data Analysis & Insight
- Write and optimise SQL queries to extract data from core banking systems
- Perform ad‑hoc analysis to support commercial and operational decisions
- Analyse data to identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve performance
- Support KPI design and development to ensure meaningful performance tracking
- Change & Transformation
- Support change and transformation projects from a data and reporting perspective
- Ensure data integrity and reporting quality across new initiatives
- Contribute to advanced analytics and AI projects aligned to the bank’s analytics strategy
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver fit‑for‑purpose reporting
- Partner with IT, Data Platform and Transformation teams to deliver joined‑up solutions
- Engage with external data providers and technology partners where required

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience in Business Intelligence, analytics or MI roles
- Background in Banking or Financial Services
- Strong SQL capability, working with large and complex databases
- Advanced Tableau experience (dashboards, analytics and visualisation)
- Expert‑level Excel skills
- Proven ability to deliver insight that drives business value
- Degree in a numerate, scientific or finance‑related discipline
Desirable
- Experience with Power BI
- Experience working in agile environments and using Jira
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL principles
- Experience working with external data sources and assessing data quality
