Your Role
As the Technical Services Manager, you will act as the primary technical lead from project inception to completion, ensuring all mechanical and electrical services meet contractual, regulatory, and compliance standards. You will drive design coordination, oversee technical deliverables, and maintain stakeholder confidence through proactive reporting and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate technical design programmes, ensuring timely and quality delivery
- Oversee design outputs including specifications, CAD/BIM models, BREEAM documentation, Part L reports, and TM59 calculations
- Provide technical direction and identify engineering solutions aligned with sustainability and compliance benchmarks
- Review and approve RFIs, technical submittals, and ensure design integrity
- Manage design programmes, reporting deadlines, and stakeholder communication
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, fire strategies, CFD studies, and safety validations
- Support commissioning strategies, ITPs, and cause/effect matrices
- Monitor installation against approved design and regulatory performance standards
- Communicate design changes and variations to commercial teams
- Deliver regular progress updates and risk assessments to senior leadership
What We’re Looking For
- HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in building services engineering with an electrical bias
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, engineering standards, and sustainability compliance systems
- Skilled in client liaison, stakeholder management, and multidisciplinary coordination
- Proficiency in design software, BIM protocols, and documentation systems
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience managing technical risk and compliance on complex projects
