A well-established M&E subcontractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a high-end accommodation/hotel and mixed-use development near Wincanton. This is a key role on a flagship project with a combined value of £4.4M (£2.2M Mechanical & £2.2M Electrical).

Working as part of a collaborative site team, you will oversee both the mechanical and electrical packages, ensuring high standards of delivery on a prestigious scheme.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of M&E installations on site, reporting into senior leadership while working closely with the main contractor and internal stakeholders.

  • Managing day-to-day site operations across mechanical and electrical works
  • Coordinating and supervising a team including:
    • 1 Working Foreman
    • 3–5 Engineers full time
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, quality, and safety standards
  • Liaising with the main contractor and project stakeholders
  • Working closely with internal support including:
    • Mechanical Head of Contracts
    • Contracts Director
    • Electrical Contracts Manager
    • Full Commercial (QS) team
  • Supporting the formation and management of subcontractor and supplier relationships where required
  • Driving productivity, resolving site issues, and maintaining programme delivery

The Project

  • Programme Duration: Approx. 12 months
  • Role Type: Subcontractor (not main contractor)

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering M&E packages
  • Ability to oversee both mechanical and electrical works
  • Strong leadership experience managing site teams
  • Experience working within a subcontractor environment
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills
  • CSCS card preferred

Package

  • Day Rate: £300–£350 per day
  • Contract Type: Subcontract (self-employed)
  • Duration: 12 months
  • No additional benefits (standard subcontract arrangement)
