Assistant Quantity Surveyor About the Company: This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and fast-growing Civil Solutions company that has secured major contracts for the upcoming year. As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is eager to develop their career and grow into a future leadership role. Role Overview: As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in managing contractual and financial aspects of projects. This role offers hands-on experience across cost control, contract administration, and client liaison, with structured development to progress into a senior position. You will play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Cost Management: * Assist in preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and valuations. * Monitor expenditure and help identify potential cost overruns. * Support in preparing applications for payment and variations. Contract Administration: * Learn to interpret and administer contract documents. * Assist in preparing subcontracts and supplier agreements. * Support in managing variations and claims. Measurement & Valuation: * Accurately measure and value work completed on-site and from drawings. * Prepare measurement reports and schedules under supervision. Risk Management: * Help identify commercial risks and assist in mitigation strategies. * Maintain accurate records and documentation. Client Liaison: * Build strong working relationships with clients and subcontractors. * Attend meetings and provide progress updates when required. What We’re Looking For: * 2–6 years’ experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry. * Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline. * Knowledge of NEC/JCT contracts is desirable. * Strong measurement and valuation skills. * Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) is an advantage. * Excellent communication and organisational skills. * Valid driving licence. Personal Attributes: * Highly motivated and eager to learn. * Detail-oriented with a proactive approach. * Strong team player with a positive attitude. * Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
