Location: Eastbourne, East Sussex Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 DOE Benefits: Company Car or Car Allowance, Pension Scheme, 28 Days Holiday (Including Bank Holidays)

Our client is a respected and rapidly expanding renewable energy contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure and energy projects across the UK.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support the delivery of industry-leading health, safety, environmental and quality standards throughout the business.

Working closely with the SHEQ Manager and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, improving processes and promoting best practice across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects.

This is a predominantly field-based position, with regular site visits (typically 3-4 days per week) across the South East and 1-2 days based from the Eastbourne office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing management and continual improvement of the company's SHEQ management systems.
  • Review project health, safety and environmental documentation as part of the project approval process.
  • Conduct specialist assessments where suitably qualified and competent, including:
  • Fire Risk Assessments
  • COSHH Assessments
  • Environmental Assessments
  • Lifting Operations Assessments
  • Undertake desktop and compliance audits to ensure project teams maintain required standards and documentation.
  • Carry out site inspections and audits, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Assist in accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
  • Provide SHEQ advice and guidance to project managers, supervisors and site teams.
  • Contribute to the development, review and enhancement of company policies, processes, procedures and documentation.
  • Support the enforcement of legislative, regulatory and client-specific requirements.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and environmental awareness across all business activities.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in a SHEQ Advisor, HSE Advisor or Health & Safety Advisor role.
  • Experience within renewables, utilities, construction, infrastructure, civil engineering or a related sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Experience carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
