Are you looking for a new and exciting role supporting the JOU in TVP and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary to deliver events, plans and operations? We are looking for someone to join our busy Operational Planning team at TVP HQ Kidlington, to provide logistical support and co-ordination for major/critical incidents and events (pre-planned and spontaneous) supporting Force, District and cross border deployments and plan the force response to requests for mutual aid and specialist support. The role involves reviewing event and action plans, attending planning meetings and establishing the policing plans for the events, as well as supporting the command team to respond to critical and major incidents.

Responsibilities

  • To provide guidance, assistance and encouragement to police officers, police staff and event organisers who are undertaking the planning role for police operations or public events.
  • Provide support including planning, deployment, co-ordination, contingency management, finance, welfare and logistics and, when required, attendance in relation to critical and major incidents, operational support and contingency planning procedures.
  • Undertake the creation and review of designated Force Policy & Procedure and force guidance in line with Authorised Professional Practice (APP).
  • Support the JOU Contingency Planning Officers in the review, deployment, training and exercising relating to contingency planning: providing assistance across the JOU when required.
  • Review Force action plans making necessary amendments and liaising with partner agencies to seek the appropriate information.
  • Undertake the planning and delivery of force operations, spontaneous events and Mutual Aid in accordance with national guidance.

Desirable knowledge

If you have knowledge of the police organisation and structure, Public Order and Public Safety processes and contingency planning this would be an advantage, but full training will be given.

Qualifications

Educated to OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience: Able to demonstrate current competence in subject matter area. Experience in event and operational planning.
