Ward Support Worker (Child Health)

Responsibilities
- To assist with meeting the needs of parents and carers on the inpatient ward.
- To orientate families to the unit and hospital environment and facilities.
- To organise the ordering and serving of patient meals.
- To collate information from friends and family questionnaire.
Main Duties of the Job
- Welcome patients to the ward in a friendly, professional manner, orientating them and their families to the ward and hospital where necessary.
- Be responsible for the management and storage of ward food supplies.
- Carry out weekly audits for cleanliness in key areas.
- Assist in ensuring that children/young people receive appropriate food and to serve meals.
- To assist the nursing staff in promoting family centred care.
- To ensure parents kitchen and parents rooms are clean and stocked up daily.
- To keep parents\’ information board up to date with relevant information.
- To collate information for friends and family test for G2.
- To contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment, to check all fridge temperatures on a daily basis.
- To act as fire warden for the unit.
