Overview

Thank you for your interest in working for Hampshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Healthcare Support Worker.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to personally make a difference to our patients lives and the lives of their carers and relatives every single day. Our Healthcare Support Workers are at the heart of our multidisciplinary teams who support our patients by assisting our Registered Nurses in planning, delivering and evaluating care.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing.
  • Share our commitment to maintaining high standards in everything we do.
  • Demonstrate that you can work effectively within a team that behaves in accordance with our values.
  • Assist the Nursing team in planning, delivering and evaluating care across medical wards, ED and AAU.
  • Work a variety of shifts including long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years old to apply for the role.
  • Willing to work a minimum of 23 hours per week.
  • Commit to the standard shift pattern for this role which includes long days, nights, weekend and bank holidays.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the role and responsibilities, and evidence how you would demonstrate our Trust values.
  • Be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships.

Interview Details

We will be holding an in-person HCSW Interview Day on Monday 27th October 2025 at Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. The event will include a presentation, talks from our clinical staff and a face-to-face interview.

No further interview dates are available and you must be able to attend in person.
