The Role:
Trading Standards Officers are required to reach a high level of knowledge and experience in order to carry out enforcement activities in specialist technical subjects. The service requires a coordinated approach to ensure that all officers achieve and maintain their competence across a broad range of highly specialised areas.
What you’ll do:
The Senior Trading Standards Officer (Training and Development) will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a training plan for the service and supporting the delivery of operational training sessions which complement their regulatory experience. The role will provide general training support to Trading Standards Officers and will have direct line management responsibilities for any new apprentice officers to support and guide them through their initial development, including any apprenticeship courses.
In addition to the training coordination and support, you will also provide a flexible support resource across a range of legislative areas. You will undertake inspections and sampling, provide advice, investigate complaints, and where necessary take appropriate enforcement action to proactively protect consumers by ensuring a fair and safe trading environment in Hampshire.
