Our IT department is advancing through a period of exciting technological change, maximising the use of the latest technology and software to drive better services in future. We have a new opportunity available for an IT PMO Support to join the IT Portfolio Office and Business Planning Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to build hands‑on experience in IT Project and Portfolio Management within a leading local authority. You’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of a varied and ambitious portfolio of IT projects. It’s also a fantastic first step for a graduate eager to launch their career in the IT industry.
What you’ll do:
- Working within our Portfolio Delivery section, you will primarily be supporting the PMO Manager in operating the Portfolio Management Office, which provides governance, monitoring, support and guidance to our portfolio of projects/programmes and project/programme managers.
- You will be playing a vital role, working with a number of stakeholders, including the IT Management Team, Service Managers, Project Managers and Resource Managers to support the delivery of our project portfolio.
- In some cases, you may be asked to work within large projects/programme to support their delivery, and with experience may be asked to manage your own small projects with support.
What we’re looking for:
- You will have strong communication and analytical skills, coupled with strong attention to detail.
- You will be enthusiastic, flexible, quick to learn, and keen to take on additional skills and responsibility.
- Whilst experience of working in a project environment and with Office 365 toolsets will be an advantage, development opportunities will be given to those who can demonstrate the required levels of aptitude and motivation to learn.
