The County Highways Laboratory is part of Hampshire Engineering Services within the Universal Services Directorate of Hampshire County Council. We are a dynamic and forward-thinking authority, currently delivering a wide range of exciting projects, such as M27 J10 improvements and Botley Bypass. Our highways material lab provides high quality testing services for our projects, as well as for other public authorities and private sector clients.
Based in Micheldever, the County Highways Laboratory is equipped to perform over 50 specialised laboratory and site tests on construction materials including bituminous, pavement, aggregates, soil and concrete. This is to ensure that materials used on our highway network are compliant and safe. We are also UKAS accredited, guaranteeing the highest level of quality and reliability in our testing services.
As a Senior Materials Technician, you’ll play a key role in guiding and supporting our dedicated technicians while overseeing investigation and testing work both in the lab and on-site. You will play a vital role in continuing to improve our high standard of quality management, ensuring our work complies with British Standards and UKAS requirements.
