An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Coordinator (Connect to Work) to join our Economy & Skills team at Hampshire County Council.

The Role:

Hampshire County Council’s Economy and Skills Team, within the Hampshire 2050 Directorate, are seeking a Programme Coordinator (Connect to Work).This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified professional with a supported employment background to join our highly successful and professional team.

Reporting to the Connect to Work Development Manager, within Economy and Skills Hampshire 2050, the Programme Coordinator (Connect to Work) role is pivotal in mobilising the new Connect to Work supported employment programme.

What you’ll do:

Connect to Work is a new employment programme launched by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to help people in England and Wales find and keep work. Providing support to up to 100,000 people nationally, it’s a key part of the government’s Get Britain Working strategy to tackle economic inactivity.

This role will focus on the initial engagement required with both internal and external stakeholders including Public Health and employers, to introduce the new Connect to Work programme. This role is crucial in managing the triage of participants across our supply-chain, as well as ensuring safeguarding and public protection arrangements are in place and monitored.

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive and successful applied experience of working collaboratively and across teams/agencies. This includes working with employers, external organisation such as DWP and Public Health
  • Experience of reading, interpreting and implementing multiple guidance documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interpret data and financial reporting
  • Experience of working in challenging environments, whilst supporting the implementation of robust safeguarding and Prevent policy and procedures
  • Experience in working within the criminal justice system with Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) would be an advantage
  • Experience of working with individuals or a working understanding of Fidelity quality assurance models would be an advantage, such as Individual Placement Support (IPS) and/or Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF)
