Hampshire County Council invites applicants to join the Spatial Strategy & Insights (S106) Team. The role focuses on determining when travel plans are required for new development proposals and on assessing, approving, and monitoring those plans to ensure compliance with transport policy, planning obligations, and Section 106 agreements.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with the Highways Development Control team to identify when a travel plan is required for new planning applications.
- Assess submissions from developers and consultants to ensure proposals are robust, appropriate and compliant with policy and guidance.
- Approve travel plans and oversee a caseload of development sites, ensuring that developers meet the commitments set out in their plans.
- Maintain accurate records, manage monitoring and approval data.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in guidance, processes and ways of working through collaboration with other teams across the council.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage a varied workload, balancing multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
- Confidence working with technical and complex transport planning information, assessing data, applying professional judgement and maintaining a high level of detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both externally and across the council.
