Salary Range: £32,247 - £34,329 per annum and pro-rata £19,348 - £20,597 (salaries subject to change due to Police Staff pay award 2025; to be confirmed)

Work Location: College of Policing, Ryton, near Coventry

Hours per week: Monday – Friday with flexible office hours

We are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us and operate as Fraud and Theft Investigators within a national policing unit working to ensure safer communities in the UK and around the world.

More about the role:

The role is to develop intelligence and investigate crime and any other investigations at a level deemed appropriate. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with a range of law enforcement agencies and private and public sector stakeholders.

The National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (NaVCIS) is a national police unit, hosted by Hampshire Constabulary but based near Coventry. We work closely with partner agencies across law enforcement and the private sector to better understand and mitigate the threats posed by vehicle theft.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Educated to QCF Level 2 (5 passes including passes in Maths or English) or work experience at a higher level
  • Proven knowledge of evidence gathering.
  • Proven working knowledge of criminal law and the criminal justice system.
  • Excellent and evidenced report writing and communication skills e.g. the production of clear, concise and accurate records, letters and reports.
  • To be computer/keyboard literate and a competent keyboard user.
