About Us
Adult Social Care in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where our passionate, caring and committed professionals do brilliant work every day.
The Role
As a Care Markets Manager, you can make your own powerful contribution. Our Adults Wellbeing Service does vital work across Westminster, putting residents at the heart of everything they do. In this role, you’ll support the Markets Team Manager to develop and deliver the strategic agenda for the service, identifying opportunities to improve resident experience, and working collaboratively with communities to co‑design and implement change projects that bring positive impacts to service users.
Responsible for a portfolio of Adults and Wellbeing contracts, you’ll ensure that the contracts you manage deliver service improvements and value for money, and remain focused on the customer at all times. You’ll work to mitigate risk, implementing projects that take into account both the current and future needs of residents. Acting as a source of advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders, you’ll prepare performance reports that summarise and effectively convey the impacts of your work.
An established professional with previous contract management experience, you’ll have good working knowledge of Adult Social services. You’ll have delivered effective contract management in a previous role, including performance monitoring, minimisation of risk, and identifying financial efficiencies. You’ll have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the commissioning cycle, contract relationship management and best practice performance management methodologies.
On a personal level, you’ll be a natural communicator capable of building and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues, stakeholders, contractors, and agencies. You’ll be comfortable challenging poor performance, and of holding contractors to account. Most importantly, you’ll be a person passionate about improving outcomes for residents across Westminster.
Westminster City Council is committed to supporting Care Leavers into the workplace. Care leavers seeking their first job and who wish to be considered under our scheme will automatically be invited to interview if they meet the essential criteria for the role.
