The Role: As an Extreme Cleaning Specialist, you will help restore homes to safe, clean, and habitable conditions, directly improving the health and wellbeing of Westminster’s most vulnerable residents. You will provide professional and sensitive cleaning services in properties affected by hoarding, hazardous waste, or extreme cleaning needs. Ensuring safety will be at the core of your duties, including deep cleaning, disposing of waste materials, or decontaminating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any incidents or hazards encountered.
- Approach vulnerable residents with empathy, patience, and respect.
- Work collaboratively with housing officers, social workers, and environmental health teams.
- Demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and a strong commitment to health and safety.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of cleaning techniques, including deep cleaning, disinfection, and safe waste disposal.
- Excellent awareness of health and safety practices, including COSHH and PPE usage.
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic IT skills for writing digital records or reports.
- A valid Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Certification in biohazard or trauma cleaning.
- Health and safety training, including COSHH awareness.
- Manual handling certification.
- Safeguarding training (Level 1 or above).
