The Role:
As a Ceramics Technician in our Adult Education Service, you can make your own powerful contribution to people across Westminster. Providing flexible technical support across the Creative Industries curriculum, you’ll order tools and equipment, monitor and maintain stock, and set up equipment needed for teaching. Taking a health and safety first approach to everything you do, you’ll ensure tools and specialist machinery are kept in safe working order, carrying out routine checks and basic maintenance where appropriate. When it comes time for our learners to showcase their work, you’ll help set up and dismantle displays for exhibits, adding a creative touch where possible. This is a part-time role, covering Mondays and Tuesdays from 7th September onwards, with occasional evening and weekend work, so you’ll need to bring some flexibility.
An established professional with a Ceramics qualification at Level 3 or above, you’ll bring sound knowledge of current ceramics practice, materials, processes and studio procedures. With experience supporting learners, colleagues or customers in a busy education environment, you’ll be capable of communicating effectively with a wide range of people. You’ll have experience of stock control and administrative procedures including stock rotation, and of setting up displays and promoting artwork. Above all, you’ll be committed to supporting the delivery of an outstanding learner experience that encourages our students to develop new skills, progress and achieve their goals.
