The Travel Planning Team plays a key role in helping people make healthier, greener and more sustainable travel choices. Our work supports walking, cycling, public transport and other low-carbon travel options, contributing to improved health, reduced congestion and a better environment for our communities. As part of the team, you will be directly supporting projects and initiatives that align with these important objectives, helping the Council deliver its commitment to sustainable transport and climate goals.
As a Business Administration Apprentice, you will provide essential administrative support to the Travel Planning Team, including:
- Assisting with day-to-day administrative tasks such as inbox management, data entry and document preparation
- Supporting meetings, events and consultations, including organising agendas and taking notes
- Maintaining records, databases and filing systems and stock to a high standard
- Communicating promptly and professionally with internal colleagues, external partners and members of the public
- Helping the team track progress against objectives and performance measures
This is a varied and engaging role that will give you exposure to different areas of the team's work. You will have the opportunity to learn new systems, processes and ways of working, while developing the core organisational, communication, IT and problem-solving skills needed for a successful career in Business Administration, all within a supportive local authority environment.
