The Role:
As a Portfolio Delivery Lead, you can make your own powerful contribution to our ambitious community improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Change, this position is all about consistent and robust deliverables. You’ll be the go-to individual for the strategy, partnerships, oversight and management of all corporate activities within a portfolio of corporate priority projects.
You will therefore be expected to act in a programme management capacity to directly manage the delivery of a corporate priority programme or portfolio of work, including but not limited to:
- Tackling Inequality
- Achieving Net Zero/Climate goals
- Providing safe, high-quality homes
- Improving neighbourhoods and supporting communities to thrive
Operating at the very heart of the department, you’ll be joining the Corporate Programme Management Office, a team consisting of programme managers, delivery leads, project support roles, benefit managers, and business intelligence developers. You’ll be expected to create career paths for your team, manage programme budgets as required and actively participate in the leadership team’s initiatives for our new and complex projects and services.
With relevant and demonstrable experience, confidence and success when implementing new and exciting programmes, you’ll be comfortable managing a delivery team of project managers and have firm knowledge of how to implement organisational change without friction.
Your exceptional capability to nurture relationships with council officers, Members, community organisations and other external partners across every facet of your role will allow you to thrive as part of this department.
