Please note that this role sits with Hampshire Youth Justice Service. The Youth Justice Service is a multi-disciplinary team which works with children and young people aged 10-18 years old who have offended and are made subject to a range of community and custodial disposals and their parents/carers. Within the team there are a wide range of professionals including specialist practitioners in mental health, Police, Probation, Social Care, Restorative Justice and Education, Training and Employment. This combined multi-disciplinary team allows Hampshire Youth Justice Service to function at the highest level.
What you’ll do:
- Provide support to parents and carers on a voluntary and statutory basis, completing a range of preventative and targeted interventions.
- Undertake assessments of parenting to identify, deliver, review and evaluate statutory and non-statutory interventions, including one-to-one and group work delivery.
- Provide effective signposting to other services providing parenting or family support and ensure effective exit strategies are identified and delivered.
What we’re looking for:
- You’ll be organised, flexible and confident working with children, young people and families, including those facing complex or challenging situations.
- You’ll have strong communication, relationship‑building and IT skills, with the ability to assess needs, manage risk and produce clear, accurate records and reports.
- A good understanding of child development, safeguarding and effective interventions is essential, along with experience of working collaboratively across agencies.
- Experience with parenting programmes, youth justice, social disadvantage or SEND is an advantage, as is a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
