The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic Events team at Hampshire County Council. The team provides a very diverse support role, with meetings, events and ceremonies taking place across the complex, which boasts over 80 meeting rooms with varying levels of specialist AV equipment. The Events team work closely with staff and external customers to ensure that meetings and events run smoothly and successfully. This hands‑on role blends behind‑the‑scenes coordination with front‑of‑house service, ensuring the seamless delivery of meetings, functions, and events across our facilities.
What you’ll do:
- Teamwork is an essential requirement of the role, enabling the team to be robust in providing an excellent standard of customer service.
- You will support each other to achieve common goals as well as individual targets.
- You will play a key role in supporting the set‑up and smooth running of a wide variety of meetings and events.
- This includes collaborating with stakeholders to plan and arrange room layouts, providing AV equipment set‑up and basic technical support, and managing bookings through the in‑house room booking system.
- The role also involves acting as a concierge for large meetings and high‑profile events, carrying out administrative duties such as attendee sign‑in and visitor escorting, and ensuring event security.
- Additionally, you will oversee the webcasting of Council meetings and consistently deliver outstanding customer service at every opportunity.
