About The Role
To support investigations by assisting in the investigation of crime requiring specialist digital investigative assistance by identifying opportunities, providing assistance and advice, gathering intelligence and conducting proactive/reactive investigations where digital technology and data acquisition opportunities exist. (Serious and Complex crime under the supervision, guidance and mentoring of a PIP 2 investigator)
You will support the development of a digital strategy in conjunction with Senior Investigation Officers to reach objectives for how digital media can support investigations and help to formulate a strategy for the acquisition of data to support the advancement of an investigation. You will also seek specialist support from roles such as Analysts, Communications Data Investigators (SPoC), Digital Forensics, Covert Authority Bureau, Vehicle Examiners and National Crime Agency to apply appropriate expertise to the advancement of an investigation.
You will undertake open and closed source investigations in relation to specific subjects, to support incidents, operations and investigations and undertake research in order to identify emerging trends, technology and investigative opportunities.

Essential Qualifications
- Competent Constable or Educated to QCF Level 3 or work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.
- PIP Level 1 accreditation with proven relevant CPD.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the Law.
