We are looking for an analytical professional to join our Shared Services Insight team at Hampshire County Council. This role focuses on providing actionable data and insights to support decision making across the council and its partners.
The Role
- Analyse transactional data, customer contact data, KPIs, and benchmarks; identify root causes of trends and events.
- Translate data into statistically relevant information and contextualise quantitative data with qualitative insights.
- Identify and review emerging trends to inform medium and long‑term strategic decisions.
- Work with a Lead Analyst mentor to create insights that drive the functional area strategy.
- Develop and deliver narratives and presentations that turn analysis into compelling stories.
- Produce reports and documentation that translate analysis into clear, concise, and logical information.
- Collaborate with operational managers and partners to ensure timely and accurate analysis for OPGs and other projects.
- Plan utilisation of the Senior Data Specialist in line with reporting and analysis needs.
- Track impact of system and process changes, measuring ROI and success against hypotheses.
- Ensure robust quality‑assurance governance for all reporting and analytics output.
What we’re looking for
- Confidence and expertise in data analysis, with a passion for driving change through insights.
- Experience with Office 365, PowerBI, and SAP is preferred but not essential; training is available.
- Strong communication and narrative skills, able to present data to stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and support operational managers.
- Detail‑oriented, with a commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.
