As part of Hampshire County Council's Procurement Support Team (PST), you will support the delivery of competitive tendering and contract award processes across the organisation, its partners, and external clients. Using our e‑tendering platform, you will help ensure procurement activities are managed efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with relevant legislation and procedures. You will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers, facilitating them and our Procurement staff to ensure seamless end‑to‑end tendering processes and help deliver high‑quality procurement outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Administrative Support
    • Using information provided by Procurement Officers and our clients, you will set up and publish tender opportunities within the e‑tendering platform.
    • Coordinate supplier communications, including tender clarifications, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
    • Manage and resolve supplier system queries effectively, communicating with appropriate stakeholders where required.
    • Monitor and respond to enquiries via the procurement shared mailbox and support line.
    • Prepare electronic contract documentation for submission to Legal Services.
    • Produce audit and activity reports, maintaining accurate system records.
  • General Duties
    • Analyse information relevant to a particular procurement, and make recommendations for action.
    • Ensure compliance with the Council’s Contract Standing Orders, systems and procedures.
    • Provide support advice and guidance to managers and stakeholders.
    • Research and respond to customer queries.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships, both internal and external.

  • Experience delivering a broad range of administrative tasks.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
