About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Day Opportunities Service at Imperial Wharf Resource Centre, supporting older people and people with physical disabilities. Working as part of a small team you will be providing personal care to residents (Day Centre attendees), facilitating and developing a range of therapeutic group and individual activities. You will act as keyworker to residents forming links with families, carers and other professionals ensuring the customer’s dignity and wellbeing is put at the heart of service delivery.

The candidate must have good IT skills and be familiar with care plan and risk assessment guidelines. Good written English and ability to communicate in a professional manner is also an essential skill for this role.

The service is currently open Monday to Friday 08.30-16.15. Occasional early morning and evening working may be required. Approximately one weekend per month may be required if service extends to seven days, currently under review.

To be successful in this role you will need the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, sometimes under difficult circumstances and respond under pressure. The ability to handle crisis situations calmly, quickly, and logically, is essential.

Note: shortlisted candidates will be required to complete an IT and written English assessment. Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
