We have a unique opportunity for a Contracts Officer to join the Adults’ Health and Care Contracts Team, which sits within the Strategic Procurement function and supports the Adults’ Health and Care Directorate.

The Contracts Team is responsible for running compliance checks on suppliers applying to work with the Council and for implementing the contract letting process once the procurement stage has concluded and contracts have been awarded. This includes issuing and managing formal legal and contractual documentation on behalf of the directorate, as well as processing changes to existing contracts, including extensions, variations, terminations, and changes of ownership.

What you’ll do: The successful applicant will work as part of a busy team to take joint ownership of the Adults’ Health and Care contract letting process. The role involves a range of administrative and contract management duties, including carrying out compliance checks, resolving contract-related queries, creating and formatting contractual documentation, and obtaining signatures on behalf of all parties, including Hampshire County Council. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all necessary approvals have been secured in accordance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements to protect the Council’s position.

What we’re looking for: You will be highly motivated and confident, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires regular liaison with internal teams and external providers. You will need to be flexible in your approach and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, using your own initiative to approach tasks with confidence and clarity. Good IT skills are essential, and you must be confident in using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience of working with SharePoint and SharePoint Lists is desirable, as these systems play a key role in supporting the management and storage of contractual documentation. Knowledge of Mail Merge would also be advantageous. The ability to adapt to new systems and processes will be important for success in this role.
