About the Role
As a Network Co-ordination Assistant in our high‑profile Strategic Transport & Connectivity Department you can make your own powerful contribution to Westminster’s success. You’ll support the successful co‑ordination and delivery of a number of interconnected services, including processing Highways Licensing applications, raising invoices for rechargeable job orders, and invoicing utility companies for the permits they require.
Responsibilities
- Processing Highways Licensing applications.
- Raising invoices for rechargeable job orders and invoicing utility companies for permits.
- Dealing with customer and stakeholder queries and complaints via email or telephone.
- Co‑ordinating the statutory advertising of Traffic Orders.
- Supporting the development and review of Highways processes, systems and procedures.
- Supporting the accident claims process, ensuring monies due are invoiced, received and reconciled, and monitoring and assisting with debt recovery.
- Providing considered advice to internal and external colleagues, partners and customers.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations, including Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Human Rights Act, Freedom of Information Act, Data Protection Act and the City Council’s procurement code.
Qualifications & Skills
- Well‑developed experience of customer and stakeholder engagement and support.
- Ability to use database systems effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with a wide range of queries, complaints and investigations.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Strong planning, organising and prioritising capabilities, producing high‑quality work.
- Natural problem‑solving abilities, identifying and resolving issues quickly and under tight deadlines, with good attention to detail.
- Knowledge of income and debt recovery (desirable).
- Experience in highways, licensing, construction industry or compliance and regulatory sectors (bonus).
