The Role:
As a Commercial and Property Litigation Solicitor, you will provide legal and procedural advice on all matters relating to litigation — with a focus on commercial and property litigation. Your day-to-day will include:
- Offering robust, risk-assessed advice
- Drafting, preparing and collating reports and legal documentation
- Providing specialist advice on prescriptive rights, rights of way, adverse possession, extension of leases, and appeals against improvement notices
- Attending meetings with Government Departments and other Local Authorities
- Negotiating advantageous terms with external parties
- Leading cases effectively and efficiently
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx fellow (or equivalent), with at least two years of post qualification experience, bringing specialist knowledge of property litigation and commercial litigation. You will have:
- Demonstrable experience of conducting complex cases in the Civil Courts, High Court and Property Tribunals
- An understanding of local authority’s duties and powers in relation to civil litigation
- Expertise across a range of contentious property matters
- Strong communication skills capable of explaining complex legal issues to non-specialist colleagues
