Open only to applicants from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare FT, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton FT, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals FT.

The post holder will oversee Digital Clinical Safety for the Trust, ensuring efficient management and compliance with national clinical safety standards.

Responsibilities include providing leadership, assessing clinical safety in IT procurement and implementation, and mitigating clinical hazards.

The CSO will be the primary authority on digital system safety, ensuring adherence to NHS Digital Information Standards., Assist in service development for compliance with information standards.

Conduct clinical risk assessments of health digital systems.

Collaborate with stakeholders to improve services based on clinical outcomes.

Provide leadership and specialist expertise across the Trust.

Liaise with digital teams and suppliers to ensure up-to-date safety evidence for health digital systems.

Develop and maintain documentation related to Clinical Risk Management.

Keep a register of qualified Clinical Safety Officers.

Plan regular reviews of clinical safety processes.

Coordinate documentation for digital Clinical Risk Management and produce reports.

Act as a liaison between digital, suppliers, and clinical staff to identify risks.

Produce clinical safety reports for health digital systems.

Communicate risk evaluations and recommendations to senior management.

Present complex information effectively in various settings.

Assess risks associated with health digital systems.

Recommend actions regarding risk acceptability.

Conduct root cause analyses of safety incidents.

Implement and review Clinical Risk Management SOPs.

Contribute to SOPs for new health digital systems.

Maintain clinical qualifications and accreditation as a Clinical Safety Officer.

Participate in the Clinical Safety Officer network and review safety cases from partner organisations.

A qualified healthcare professional with experience in clinical safety and healthcare IT systems is required for this role.
