An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to join our Adult Forensic Services within our Secure Services. This is a replacement post, offering the chance to be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality care to service users with complex needs.

About the Service

Our Secure Services are a vital component of the Mental Health & Learning Disability division, comprising a diverse range of specialist inpatient services for adolescents and adults, alongside community-based services for adults. The Forensic Service provides inpatient and outpatient forensic mental health care, aiming to deliver recovery-focused, patient-centred treatment for individuals involved with the criminal justice system.

Main duties of the job:

  • Lead the clinical management of a defined caseload within our adult forensic services
  • Work within a well-established multidisciplinary team
  • Play a key role in shaping clinical strategy and service development
  • Contribute to training, supervision, and research activities across the division

Person Specification:

Qualifications:

  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council
  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
  • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register as a Forensic Psychiatrist or within 6 months of CCT at interview
  • Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983

Additional Requirements:

  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • UK professional registration
  • Eligibility for Skilled Worker Sponsorship (if applicable)
