Join us as Associate Director of Medical Education for Mental Health! Lead and support postgraduate medical education within our Trust\’s mental health services. Collaborate closely with the Director of Medical Education and finance partners to oversee budgets and ensure the smooth delivery of the postgraduate curriculum.

You\’ll be key in creating a high-quality learning environment for resident doctors, maintaining top educational standards, and working alongside clinical and operational leaders. Your efforts will help shape a skilled, sustainable mental health medical workforce, aligned with future workforce development goals.

Main duties of the job

  • Cover for Trust level induction
  • Liaison with PGME MEMs and work with MEMs to ensure there is an updated list of accredited supervisors in mental health services, provide supervisor development courses (accredited supervisor refresher courses)
  • Attendance at Deanery School of Psychiatry Board
  • Chair of Trust MH CTWG (Clinical Tutors Working Group)
  • Meetings with Psychiatry TPDs for any resolution, Head of school of psychiatry, General practice, FY school.
  • Level 2 HR resolution for resident doctors in mental health in difficulty
  • Basic Line Management for Psychotherapy Tutor (eg approve mileage/ study leave)
  • Trust Clinical – Education Interface Co-Chair in relation to Mental Health services
  • Meetings with estate, finance, PG University academic leads as appropriate
  • Deputise for the DME at Trust resident rep meetings in relation to mental health posts
  • Attendance at RCPsych Education Dean – DME meetings, as relevant
  • Consultancy for any QI, pilot schemes e.g. Pilot Nurse/AHP consultant supervisors in MH physician associates, education fellows, higher resident leadership programmes in relation to MH doctors in training.
