The Role: Cyber security is critical to keeping Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service operating safely and effectively. As Cyber Security Manager, you will play a pivotal role in protecting frontline services, critical systems, and sensitive data from an ever evolving cyber threat landscape. This is a strategic leadership role with real influence - where your expertise directly supports public safety and operational resilience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and developing the Cyber Security Team, setting direction and driving high standards across the service.
  • Safeguarding ICT infrastructure by overseeing cyber security tools, platforms, and controls.
  • Owning and improving cyber security processes, ensuring risks are proactively identified and mitigated.
  • Providing expert advice to senior stakeholders, ICT colleagues, suppliers, and partners.
  • Shaping future capability, exploring innovative approaches to strengthen cyber resilience and efficiency.

You’ll work proactively, anticipating the needs of the Service and ensuring cyber security is embedded into everything we do.

What we’re looking for:

  • You’ll be an experienced cyber security professional with proven experience in a similar cyber security leadership role.
  • Good technical understanding of Microsoft technologies, Windows security, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365).
  • Familiarity with ISO security standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and commercial awareness.
