HIWFRS is committed to keeping our communities safe, well and informed, and our prevention work plays a large role in this.
The Prevention Team provides fundamental support to our communities across HIWFRS, by providing first class initiatives to keep them safe. Our prevention activities include engagement with and education of the community, Home Fire Safety Visits, delivery of children and young people programmes and safeguarding.
This role is key in managing the delivery of a high-quality prevention programme to our community across the counties, promoting and developing fire safety awareness and consequently reducing casualties and fatalities within the local community. The role has responsibility for line managing Community Safety Advisors and Officers, supporting them in their delivery of frontline prevention activities.
The role requires strong skills in people management, creativity, innovation and problem-solving, alongside a passionate desire to make the lives of residents safer. This post is a hybrid position. There is an expectation to work from Basingstoke Fire Station and other Fire Service locations for at least 3 days a week.
