Job Description:

If you are currently serving as an officer at Constable rank from a Non-Home Office police, we are now welcoming expressions of interest from officers who are currently serving within the below forces:

  • British Transport Police (BTP)
  • Ministry of Defence Police (MDP)

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary value the skills and experience you already have and would like you to come and join our team. Please register your interest and you will be added to a list to contact, once we have more information about timescales and our bespoke induction course. We will then conduct an online Q+A session to explain our process and answer your questions.

If successful then we would recognise your previous service with MDP/BTP and it means that it would count for continuous service purposes and for calculation of your starting pay point.

We also recognise that you have already gained training and skills which you might want to bring with you – we will complete an individual training assessment and look to retain these skills wherever possible.

For awareness, from a regulatory perspective, an officer moving from a non-Home Office police force to a Home Office police force will not be considered a ‘transfer’ as per Regulation 2(1) and defined in Regulation 3(2). Instead will be regarded as recruitment from a non-Home Office police force.

Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit. Check our Blog for more information.
