Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary (HIOWC) is a diverse organisation that provides policing and support to more than two million residents. As an employer, we recognise it is our workforce that is central to everything we do to enable the highest level of public service. We aim to provide a supportive and dynamic working environment, where staff and officers can achieve their full potential, have a healthy work-life balance and feel valued for what they do.
The role
Our in-house recruitment team plays an important part in ensuring Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary continues to deliver an outstanding police service for our communities. This is an exciting time to join our evolving team while we embed several key roles that will shape how we attract future talent across the organisation.
Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside our recruitment advisors, digital recruitment specialists, key stakeholders and the public, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our attraction, marketing and engagement methods. You will be required to attend recruitment events such as job fairs, open days, information events and assessment centres to promote HIOWC as an employer of choice and ensure we are attracting diverse talent across all our roles.
This is a unique opportunity where you will also support how we deliver our assessment centres and promotion processes, as well as exploring new initiatives with colleges and universities. You will support the development of our recruitment and marketing strategy, ensuring we are inclusive and transparent in how we engage and assess future talent.
Our people are at the forefront of the constabulary’s vision and we are looking for flexible and committed individuals to join our team. While the role is contractually based at HIOWC’s Strategic Headquarters in Eastleigh, hybrid working will be available to those joining the team. Applicants must also be aware that, depending on events, there is a requirement to work outside of your normal working hours, which may include travel to various areas of the region.
You will need to be educated to QCF Level 3 or have comparable work experience in a recruitment or similar role. You will require good communication skills and an ability to develop and maintain relationships with managers, stakeholders and the public. An understanding and working knowledge of relevant UK employment legislation would be useful, but is not essential to the role. Additional information:
