We are now looking for a proactive Data & Analytics Engineer to provide high-quality insight and support to our business, turning complex data into clear, actionable intelligence. You will play a key role in shaping how information is captured, structured, and analysed, enabling Hammonds Furniture to make informed operational and strategic decisions. Your work will be central to building a centralised reporting and analytics framework, ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and accessible across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Develop and optimise data models to support reporting and analytical requirements.
- Create and maintain advanced DAC calculations and measures to enable accurate data analysis.
- Use SQL to extract, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources.
- Maintain the Microsoft Fabric infrastructure to support data integration and analytics.
- Perform data engineering tasks, including building, maintaining, and transforming pipelines to ensure reliable, analytics-ready data.
- Support the development of a centralised data and reporting environment.
- Work independently on reporting, analysis, and dashboard development tasks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into actionable insights.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimisation across reporting solutions.
You will bring:
- Hands-on experience in Data Analysis, Business Intelligence, or a related role.
- Strong experience with Power BI, including dashboard development and data modelling.
- Advanced knowledge of DAX for building calculations and measures.
- Solid experience with SQL for data extraction and transformation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage reporting tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to present insights to Senior Leadership.
- Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Strong practical experience with Power BI, SQL, and DAX, demonstrated through previous roles or projects.
- Business analysis experience - desirable but not essential.
- Desirable but not essential: professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI), Microsoft SQL Server certifications, Business Intelligence or Data Analytics certifications.
