Looking for a new challenge? Hammond Recovery at our location in Halesworth has an exciting new roadside technician position available. Working alongside other patrols and recovery units to assist breakdowns for all the major breakdown companies (AA, Green Flag, RAC etc). You will need to have a good mechanical background, knowledge of modern vehicles and the ability to diagnose and fix faults at the roadside.

Our highly professional team attends around 12,500 breakdowns a year and currently has an 80% fix rate at the roadside. The ideal candidate should be mechanically trained, polite and self-motivated, along with the ability to work alone and as part of a team.

You will:

  • Hold a full and appropriate driving licence (minimum B+E) for towing vehicles to local destinations. Any entitlements above B+E would be advantageous.
  • Take responsibility for your own vehicle and equipment supplied by the company.
  • Be able to satisfactorily pass our vetting scheme.

Competitive rates of pay with overtime available. We operate a 24/7 service, and this position works on a rota-based system, working on a 4 on, 2 off basis which includes evening call outs on a rota basis. You will work as part of a friendly and highly experienced team who undertake all aspects of recovery from light to heavy recovery accident units and a control room team who handle around 20,000 jobs every year.

Training will be provided where needed and there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and gain new skills. Uniform and PPE will be provided along with any technical and diagnostic equipment needed for the job.
